Welcome to Burrton Public Schools!

Burrton is a small, 1-A school district located in south central Kansas. We are a short hop away from Hutchinson, Newton, McPherson, and Wichita. We have the small town community that so many are looking for, with the conveniences of larger communities just a short drive away.

A student body, traditionally around 200 students Pre-K – 12, provides small classes for academics with a student to teacher ratio of 8:1. Activities help round out our students. At Burrton, students have the opportunity to be a part of everything! We partner with our Burrton Recreation Commission to offer youth

sports for our elementary students, and MS/HS students can participate in sports, fine arts, and leadership clubs to help round out their life experiences. One of the major benefits of a small school district is the opportunity to develop well-rounded citizens.

We are proud of our district and the people who work here! I am reminded daily of the excellence that lies within our students, community, board of education, teachers, staff and leaders. You should be very proud of your school.

We are striving to meet the needs of each individual student, to never be satisfied with the status quo, and to continuously improve our district.

I’m Proud to Be a Charger!

Respectfully,

Joan E. Simoneau
